Viktor Ullmann wrote his last works in a concentration camp, before he was killed in Auschwitz. His son Johannes escaped Nazism as a child on the Kindertransport, and spent the rest of his life in a mental hospital in Surrey. This play tells their stories, interwoven with Viktor Ullmann’s music; THE OLD SONGS – Tragicomic TV musical. Traditional Welsh stories are rewoven in modern day Swansea when a young heroin addict finds a guitar that grants her mythical powers.
