Michael E. Ward

Michael Ward was born and raised in India. A veteran of business and the arts in the West, he brings what is good about the UK film industry – good IP management, rigorous script development and third-party financial accountability – to India; and brings what is good about the Indian film industry – fantastic storylines, technical production skills and film-mad audiences – to the attention of external producers and financiers.

Married to film director Pia Sukanya, Michael intends to keep building a bridge between Indian talent and the wider world. In India, his focus is on low budget high concept films, the first being BOMBAIRIYA, a comic thriller aimed at ‘multiplex’ audiences who are hungry for differentiated content. However, holding film and TV rights to M. M. Kaye’s epic novel THE FAR PAVILIONS means Michael is keen to associate with international producers who can help turn it into an international television series.

“This is a locals pub. And what’s the problem with locals?
They die.”
“Inconsiderate bastards.”

All over London public houses become private flats. Tomorrow The Anchor closes for good. It’s the end of an era, but Kenny and the gang are going out with a bang. There’s a blow-up sheep, karaoke and a lot of Campari. There’s secrets and grudges and forgotten dreams. As the front doors are locked and the bar is drunk dry, there’s a lot more to lose than just a pub.
